Curls Enhancing Gel

The ultimate curls enhancing gel: Flax Seed Gel
Lightweight not sticky, feels natural, humidity fighting, define curls and budget friendly.

Why are gel important for curls?

We try to skip them but should never skip them.
i.   Protect from frizz
ii.  Helps to define curls
iii. Holds curls entire day without fall flat
iv.  Helps curls to clump together

Here’s my DIY recipe:

a. 1 1/4 cup water
b. 3 tbsp flax seeds
Boil water, add flax seeds, stirring constantly in medium flame, boil until flax seeds float in the water (generally takes 10-12 mins). When you lift the whisk you will see thin strings of gel. If you boil too long the strings will be too thick and you will have unstrainable gel. Leave it until it comes to room temperature and pours into an old stocking to strain.
c. Scent-2 drops essential oil
Deep moisture: a couple drops of coconut oil or any other favourite oil, careful can make you oily. Add more or less as needed
Plus point: Lasts 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
The gel is the final styling product that you’ll apply to your hair when it’s wet.

Gel styling tips

  • Apply gel as the last stage in your curl styling routine on wet hair.
  • Don’t rake the gel through your hair, apply it to the surface of your curls with an open palm and lightly scrunch up.
  • Allow your hair to dry completely. Be patient!
  • Scrunch out the crunch to remove the gel cast. Use your hands, a soft t-shirt or your diffuser to break that crispy coating and release your curls.
